The Miliari are a race unique amongst the myriad of other intelligent species that inhabit the universe of Status Quo. Each member of the Miliari is identical, patterned after the progenitor of the species, Xan'Kalii. It is for this reason that the species known as the Miliari came to solidarity as a society millenia ago.

Before the recorded history of the race known as the Miliari began, a single member of the species stood above all others. Xan'Kalii led the way for the formulation of the Miliari's written language, and throughout the history of his people Xan'Kalii stayed at the forefront of their scientific development. For over six thousand years Xan'Kalii led the people into various eras of scientific, political, and philosophical discovery. Xan'Kalii’s contributions to his people’s science and medicine pulled the Miliari from the brink of extinction into the era of exploration into deep space, and saved them yet again when the Miliari dwindled into less than a dozen in number. At the age of nine thousand, three hundred and twenty seven Human years old Xan'Kalii passed into the other realm. The Miliari people, unified in their decision, set forth the "Law of Perpetuation." Those 6 Miliari who were present at the time before the passing of this law went on to found the various factions within the Miliari Republic.

As decreed by the Law of Perpetuation, from that day forward all Miliari would be created from the genetic blueprint of Xan'Kalii. All of his recorded memories and thoughts, from the day he was born until the day he went beyond were imprinted into every Miliari that has come thereafter. Each Miliari "born" since has the entire history of his people, to the day of the death of Xan'Kalii imprinted within them. It is from this moment of creation that all Miliari grow into individuals, resting upon the backbone of their culture and history to make decisions and grow as a being, and to never let the mistakes of the past happen again.

The Miliari have pressed into their future with all of the wisdom and fortitude of Xan'Kalii, granted to them by the Law of Perpetuation. While Xan'Kalii may have not been the most brilliant of tacticians, the tenets of logic adhered to by the progenitor have led the Miliari to continue in their long standing tradition of scientific discovery. It is for this reason that they have made the decision as a race to maintain solidarity in the face of an unforgiving universe. The Miliari Data-Net is a shining example of the technological advancement of the Miliari Republic, keeping every Miliari informed of significant events, and making sure that every single member has a vote in every affair of state.

Each Miliari has free access to the Miliari Data-Net. This wealth of information allows all Miliari who are able to access it a voice amongst his people, and a means to access all events that have come before. Anything a Miliari sees or does is input into the Miliari Data-Net. If a Miliari works with a member of another race, all pertinent information about that person or race is input into the Data-Net for every other Miliari to see and access. This makes it impossible for a criminal or terrorist to escape them for very long, as any Miliari they come across will notify the Republic and Constables will be dispatched. Each event relevant to the peoples of the Miliari Republic goes to a vote, with billions of voices speaking on every issue in nano-seconds. No single Miliari leads the Republic, with representatives changing from moment to moment, depending on what the situation calls for. At any given moment, any Miliari may access the Data-Net (if they possess the means to do so) and call a vote. The Miliari are the only race in the uni- verse that has perfected the science of instantaneous communication across multiple light years.

Despite this capability for mass communication, some decisions made by the Republic have not been for the best. After incursions by the race known as the Ji, the Miliari Republic voted as a whole to begin the conscription of other races as shock troops against this new enemy. Given that the Miliari are frail in constitution and not skilled themselves in the arts of war, it seemed logical for the inhabitants of Miliari Prime to find soldiers that could perform more adeptly in battle. After the discovery and subjugation of the Barak, the Miliari set its sights on another race the Republic had been aware of for some time...the Gik. This was not met with a warm reception. When the Miliari found Humans on Earth, they too were targeted by the Miliari Republic as troops for invasion and defense, but a longer and more generous approach was attempted.

The Miliari have found a calculated but unpredictable ally with the race of Man. Many attempts were made to sway Humanity into the destruction of the Gik, but Humans had different plans. It was eventually decided by the Miliari Republic that the formation of the Coalition of Unified Planets was the most assured method of survival for their species, and even the war with the Gik has been staved off for a Human year as the Miliari continue to render assistance in the ongoing battle for survival against the Ji.

For thousands of years now, the Miliari have stood as a testament to longevity. Their current laws expediate the needs of the whole, at the seeming cost of individuality, yet they have no problerm telling each other apart. To the Miliari, knowledge is ultimate power.
