Humans

Humans (or "Humanity") developed on Earth, spreading across their home world into proliferation over the narrow course of just over ten thousand years. Earth had supported many forms of life previous to Humanity, but none had evolved into sentience or any form of developed technology. It took Humanity almost the entire course of this existence to move into space, warring with itself throughout the interim of this evolution and nearly annihilating itself as a race many times before making its first step into the void.

By the onset of the technological adolescence known by Humanity, various methods of warfare had evolved to suit the needs of this increasingly violent civilization. Despite its need for destruction, Humanity developed art, science, and mathematics to supplement the secondary need for individuality amongst the populace. Numerous evolutionary offshoots of the species came into existence over the
course of Human history, as many "races" spawned and declined throughout Humanity's chronology. Even now, Humans stand unique among the races because of genetic offshoots, resulting in different skin color and body types. On Earth many wars are still waged based solely on superficial qualities such as skin colors or religious beliefs.

It was not until the Human year 1945, in the midst of an oncoming world war, that a tiny percentage of Humanity recognized the fact they were not alone in the universe. Repeated nuclear testing permeated Earth's atmosphere with massive detonations and EMP, causing a "visiting" race known as the Miliari to crash in less populated areas. These introductions made for a troubled beginning with Human & Miliari relations, and in typical Human fashion, a secret war was waged among the citizens of Earth as a result of fear and ignorance. Those Humans who knew the truth were hunted by governments and radicals alike. Many of these brave agents were killed for knowing of a war beyond the scope of anything Humans had seen before. It took the governments of Earth almost two generations to acknowledge what had to be done, allowing for the spread of Humanity into space and the proliferation of "The Lie."

By the Human year 1965, Humanity was pushing into space at a phenomenal rate while a majority of its population remained ignorant. In preparation for the upcoming war with the Ji, now only generations away, the Miliari began giving Humanity technology hand over fist. This insurgence of technology led to serious future shock among some Humans, while others embraced it and worked feverishly. This explosion of scientific advancement is still being felt amongst Humanity, as even Earth bound Humans are reeling from the overflow of the Miliari's influence. Trailblazing scientists reverse engineered borrowed science, and new Human corporations were born in the fresh dens of man. Cloning, yet another gift from the Miliari, allowed the keepers of "The Lie" to fill planets in mere weeks with a history and culture engineered for success.

Now Humanity exists in a very subtle balance, watched by men and women who carry the weight of the truth on their shoulders. Humans free from "The Lie" have access to highly advanced technology and are comfortable with its use; All while many Earth bound Humans still have trouble setting the VCR. How "people" choose to handle the truth is completely up to them, leading Humans to be as diverse and unique in space as they are on the ground.
