Hadim

The Hadim are the first of countless races made slaves to the Ji, and they have failed many times to break the hold upon them that keeps them enslaved. What is known of them is little, but the Abanshi have shared some information about this enigma.

According to the Abanshi, the Hadim were once a prolific race. They lived across the universe, on a world created for them by the Abanshi. The Hadim were a peaceful species, keeping a lesser evolved race, known as the Ji, as companions and beasts of labor. When a cataclysm ravaged their binary home system, the balance was disrupted, and the Hadim were overcome.

Now the Ji rule this world, making their former masters into slaves of their evolution. The Ji separate the Hadim from their spawning pools, and abduct them into service. Under constant threat of eradication, the Hadim serve to remain alive. The "separated" Hadim are short lived, only thriving for a few Human years after being removed from their "zyss" (spawning pools). If Hadim were left alone, it is longingly believed by the Abanshi that they would live almost indefinitely, feeding off of the collective essence of each other forever.

The Hadim are a race of "Polymorphs." They have the ability to assume the form of anything they come into physical contact with. They can look like anything, yet not assume any of the Abilities or Skills of whatever they are imitating. Hence, they may look like a Human, but cannot speak the Terran language or pilot vehicles unless they take the time to learn. The Hadim are useful tools of the Ji, and are commonly seen accompanying their masters by surviving races fleeing from infested worlds.

It is not known how intelligent they truly are, but it is assumed that they were once a noble race, until driven into conformity by the Ji. Now they serve with animosity, spying and killing to prevent the deaths of their kin dozens of galaxies away, dropping clues, hoping someone solves the puzzle they leave behind.
